Marisa comes to town

Marisa, who is very near and dear to our hearts (so much so that we even vowed to adopt her someday – this is nothing against her current parents but rather that we want her to be a legal family member and I heard she's looking for someone to do all her laundry and cook for her), came to visit. There is nothing more flattering and wonderful than when a friend comes to visit, especially since Des Moines isn't exactly a tourism capital. Marisa was just the person we needed to see and we're so grateful for the time we had with her.

We toured the State Capital (do it if you're in town!), went to the prairie and saw some buffalo, walked by the river at sunset, admired the scultpture park, visited a lot of quaint little shops, had a picnic at Gray's Lake, slept in every day and ate a lot of food (including homemade gyros! and gelato!).

I have full faith that someday we will once again live in the same city. And it will be amazing.

  1. Aww so much fun - I love all of your pictures, and I'm thoroughly jealous of all of that good food and sleeping in. :)
